Nivedita ShivRaj, vocalist and veena player is a composer, performer, teacher of carnatic music. She composes original music and authors books. She presents music concerts and workshops, and teaches music (both vocal and veena) in the USA and other countries.

Nivedita ShivRaj will be a resident composer at the historic Flushing Town Hall from May 2009 to July 2009.
She will present a concert of her new compositions at Flushing Town Hall later in the year. The ancient string instrument, Veena, explores the complex ragas, the basis of Indian classical music, while providing a one of-a-kind East-West experience.
