Nivedita ShivRaj, vocalist and veena player is a composer, performer, teacher of carnatic music. She composes original music and authors books. She presents music concerts and workshops, and teaches music (both vocal and veena) in the USA and other countries.

Flushing Town Hall presents Nivedita ShivRaj performing Indian music on the Veena with her Charanams team in Cultural Crossroads, mixing two cultures. The team will enthrall the audience with carnatic compositions and original compositions of Nivedita ShivRaj, lush melodies with strong spiritual connection.
Two cultures - Brazil and India, come together on one stage for a NEW series with an open dance floor. Dance lessons at 7pm will be followed by music of the two bands and a musical jam. Velly Bahia features Axe music from Bahia, linking Brazilís African roots with energetic drumming, dancing and homage to the deities - The Orishas.The concert is one of the many events of the India Festival presented by Flushing Town Hall from April through May 2013.

Nivedita ShivRaj's composition Infinite Dhwani premier's in 60x60 Athena Mix at Athena Festival in clebration of Women History Month at Murray State University, Kentucky.
Vox Novus and the Athena Festival hosted by Murray State University invited composers/sound artists to submit recorded works 60 seconds or less in length to be included in the ninth annual 60x60 project, the Athena Mix. 60 compositions were selected from 200 international submissions to be played continuously in a one-hour concert. Submissions for the 2011 Athena Mix included submissions from women all over the globe, including submissions from New Zealand, Italy, the Americas, Ukraine, Germany, Spain, Greece, the United Kingdom, and Taiwan. 60x60 is a one-hour-long show made by sequencing 60 pre-recorded pieces by 60 different composers, each piece a minute in length or shorter. Highlighting the work of a great many composers, 60x60 testifies to the vibrancy of contemporary composition by present a diverse array of styles, aesthetics, and techniques being used today. 60x60 has received thousands of submissions from over 30 countries, produced radio shows, created multimedia and multidisciplinary events, and released several albums.
