Workshop on Carnatic Music at Kingsborough Community College

The performing arts center of Kingsborough Community College was filled with the melodious, graceful sounds of the veena and voices of Nivedita ShivRaj & her daughter Samyuktha ShivRaj.

The workshop was presented for the incoming freshman, to give them an idea about ethnic cultures and music from other parts of the world. The students got a peek into Carnatic music, the method of training, uniqueness of carnatic music, the system of raga & thala.

There was a lively Q & A session at the end of the session.
